What do we wear!?

Consider these tips when planning what you and your loved ones will wear in your photos!

Coordinate colors

Start with a favorite article of clothing. This can be multicolored, solid, or patterned. Options like plaid and argyle often work well because they usually incorporate 3 or more colors! These colors can be used to build other outfits.

It’s best not to wear logos or too many patterns. It can be a bit distracting. If someone is wearing a pattern, consider the other outfits to have some plain solids. It’s about balance.

no matchy matchy!

It’s not important to be matchy, matchy! Instead it’s better to complement each other’s outfits. It’s best to stick to 3-5 colors in your outfit color scheme. Picking 2-3 dominant colors and then a couple softer neutral colors works well.

don’t forget the details

The love is in the details. Paying attention to the small stuff can pay off in big ways! I love when I’m able to include detail shots in your gallery. Here’s some reminders for making sure you’re ready for those close-up shots.

  • Shoes! Upgrading your wardrobe is not always an option and that’s okay. Now is the time to buff out some scuffs!

  • Clean up chipped nail polish for those close up hand shots.

  • Accessorize! Now is a great opportunity to add a pop of color that helps tie your outfit into the others. Consider a scarf, headband, bold earrings, or a statement necklace.

  • BRUSH! Make sure teeth are brushed, hair is brushed, and pet hair/lint is brushed off of clothes.

If you feel up for it, dress up in your best! Put on some formal attire that has just been sitting there for a special occasion… this is a special occasion!
